Amendment to Law on Remuneration of Persons Holding Public Positions and Public Service Positions
1 / 11

On July 15, the extraordinary session of the National Assembly was convened by the initiative of the Government.

The draft law on Amending the Law on Remuneration of Persons Holding Public Positions and Public Service Positions authored by the NA deputies Viktor Yengibaryan and Nikolay Baghdasaryan was debated in the first reading.

The key rapporteur Viktor Yengibaryan presented the main purpose and nature of the proposed amendments.

It has been noted that it is proposed to increase the monthly sum allocated for the expenses of the deputies’ activities of the National Assembly by the legislative initiative and to set 250.000 AMD.

The rapporteur underlined that the regulation was not revised after the adoption of the law in 2013 while the Republic of Armenia made a transition to a parliamentary government system – the National Assembly with the amendments to the Constitution of 2015, as well as essentially expanding the scope of the MPs’ authorities and functions.

The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Davit Khachatryan made a co-report presenting the positive position of the Government related to the draft law.
